Leafminerparasites
The adult Dacnusa (tr) and Opius parasites are black, 2-3 mm. of length and with long antennae. The adult Diglyphus (tl) is around 2 mm. long with short antennae and a very tiny body (see pictures) Dacnusa and Opius are endoparasitic, e.g. they will develop inside the minerflielarvae, whereas Diglyphus is ectoparasitic, developing nearby, but outside the minerlarvae.
How to use
Dacnusa sibirica and Opius pallipes are normally used in the dark period of the year. In cucumber always use Dacnusa (e.g. with 10 % Diglyphus ) (Nordic region at least), Diglyphus alone only at severe attack and very hot conditions. In tomato use Dacnusa until 1 mine per plant occur, and use Diglyphus for the rest of the season.

It is absolute necessary to make an analysis of the parasitization after 3 week of parasite-releases. This is for Dacnusa and Opius analysis under microscope of larvae to check for larvae inside. For Diglyphus it is also microscopic screening by using light to see the eggs, larvae or pupae of Diglyphus . (this check can be made reasonable in the greenhouse a well ) The products can be stored a few days at 8 degrees, and should be released in the evening, or best under cloudy conditions
